Climate
In tropical rainforests the climate is very humid because of all the rainfall which amounts to about 250cm per year. Rainforests have lots of rain because they are very hot and humid. This climate is near the equator because the sunlight hitting the earth are more direct.
Temperate rainforests have two separate seasons. The have long wet winter, and they have a short dry summer. Temperate rain forests are cooler that tropical rainforests, but the temperature is still mild. The mild summer help to prevent drought in summer
Subtropical rainforests can be found where the rainfall s above 1300mm. Sometimes only 10-60 types of trees will have well developed multilayered canopy. Many of the trees have buttress as commonly found in most rainforests

Rain forest Food web starts from producers :-
Brazil nut tree, jack fruit tree, avocado tree, banana tree.
Then come the primary consumers:-
Agouti, morph butterfly, bird wing butterfly, macaw, three-toed
sloth, tapir, humming bird.
After the primary consumers come the secondary consumers :-
Harpy eagle, jaguar, boa constrictor, squirrel monkey, Spider
monkey, golden lion, tamarin and toucan.
Then com the Decomposers :-
Bacteria , fungi

Nutruient cycle
Process: trees shed leaves all year – tree roots absorb the nutrients from leaves – shallow roots take the nutrients up - trees rapidly grow. Then the cycle continues.
The warm damp conditions of the forest floor and the abundance of insects enable the rapid breakdown of dead leaves and plant materials. this provides nutrients that are easily absorbed by plant roots . The cycle continuous as long as deforestation doesn't happen because if the protective canopy is removed the soil will become infertile and the nutrients will be leached out of the soil.

Rainfall (water cycle)
Process: heavy rain – trees intercept water –some water reaches the ground-trees take up the water- water evaporates-the water turns into clouds. Then this cycle continues.
The roots from the trees absorb the water from the ground and the take the water from bottom to top then water evaporates and turns into water vapor and it condenses and makes clouds and the next day it rains. This is known as convectional rain fall. the whole cycle is repeated daily.
